The kind and awesome people of Beardsman.com have offered me the opportunity to donate a piece of my artwork to their silent auction.  The auction is part of a bigger event… Bay of Beards 2010.  Bay of Beards is an annual Beard and Moustache Contest sponsored by Beardsman.com.  Bay of Beards is a fundraiser for a mentally ill homeless charity. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Beardsman Foundation.  Go and check out the Charity section on the Beardsman web-site to find out more info.  I will update with some sketches and ideas for the piece that I will be submitting.

It dawned upon me that, although I enjoy cooking, I also enjoy eating at various restaurants, diners, and cafes.  So, I think that I am going to keep a sort of journal on the places I go to.  I already have a Moleskine ready to go for some note taking action.  I will supplement my notes with some images and I will be posting them here, on my site.  If there are any places that you would recommend, go ahead and send them my way.  I would love the check them out and do a little write up on them. Ok, so I went ahead and took the plunge at making cupcakes from scratch.  My sister is going to be coming into town for her birthday.  So, I decided to make her some cupcakes.  Though, I wanted to make them from scratch.  I figure, the more effort I put into making them, the more special they will seem.  I planned on doing a test run.  Just to make sure I don’t screw them up royally when she arrives.  Here are some pics of what went on.

Well, I said I was going to post some pics of the art show…  somehow, I managed to take some really good blurry photos and accidentally delete the other ones… amazing.  haha

I want to thank everyone for coming out on Friday night!  I had a great time.  A lot of people showed up and showed their support.  Much obliged!  There were some casualties though… about 200 chicken nuggets, 30 twinkees, and numerous cupcakes.  A crowd hungry for art and delicious delicious treats!  Will post some pics soon!
